Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary laid the foundation stone for a new Technology Centre at Khizarsarai, Gaya, Bihar on June 15, 2026. The ceremony commenced with a traditional Bhoomi Pujan attended by senior officials from the Ministry of MSME, Bihar government ministers, and industry representatives.
The Technology Centre represents a total investment of ₹170 crore, with approximately ₹86 crore allocated for civil works and ₹84 crore for plant and machinery. The facility will cater to key sectors including General Engineering, Heavy Engineering, and Textile Testing, providing advanced technological support, testing facilities, and skill development services to MSMEs across six districts: Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Nalanda, Jehanabad, and Munger.
The centre aims to train 7,000 trainees annually through both short-term and long-term industry-oriented programmes aligned with current and emerging industry requirements. Additionally, it will support more than 1,000 local MSMEs every year through tooling services and job work. Union Minister Manjhi emphasized that the centre will provide technology support to MSMEs not only in Bihar but also in neighbouring states, while Chief Minister Choudhary highlighted the Ministry's role in creating significant employment opportunities and strengthening self-reliance foundations. The facility is expected to serve as a major catalyst for industrial growth in southern Bihar, helping bridge technology gaps and facilitate the integration of local MSMEs into global supply chains.
