Union Minister for MSME Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary will jointly lay the foundation stone for the Technology Centre at Khizarsarai, Gaya, Bihar on June 15, 2026. The ceremony will include a traditional Bhoomi Pujan (Ground Breaking Ceremony) with senior officials from both the Ministry of MSME and Government of Bihar in attendance.
The Technology Centre, Gaya represents a significant infrastructure investment with a total project cost of Rs. 170 crore. The investment breakdown includes approximately Rs. 86 crore allocated for civil works and Rs. 84 crore for plant and machinery. The centre will be developed on a 20-acre plot provided by the State Government, featuring a built-up area of approximately 16,800 square metres. The facility will comprise multiple functional blocks including Production Block, Training Block, Utility Block, Administrative Block, Multipurpose Hall, Hostel, and Staff Accommodation.
The centre will specifically cater to the focus sectors of General Engineering, Heavy Engineering, and Textile Testing, addressing the technical requirements of MSMEs and industries across six districts in southern Bihar: Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Nalanda, Jehanabad, and Munger. It will provide MSMEs with access to advanced manufacturing technologies, industry-ready workforce, and essential technical and business advisory services.
Services offered will include production facilities such as tool room capabilities for moulds, dies, jigs, and fixtures; CNC machining services; CAD/CAM/CAE facilities; rapid prototyping; Industry 4.0 lab; and renewable energy systems/solutions. The centre will also conduct industry-relevant training programs in CAD/CAM/CAE, VLSI/ES/Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Data Analytics, Prototyping, Quality Control, and sector-specific engineering disciplines. Business development services will encompass market research, prototype development, Six Sigma practices, regulatory compliance, supply chain management, digital marketing, branding, product design, modernization, automation, innovation, and incubation support.
The expected impact includes training 7,000 trainees annually through both short-term and long-term industry-oriented programs aligned with current and emerging industry requirements. The centre aims to support more than 1,000 local MSMEs in tooling activities and job work on an annual basis. It is positioned to serve as a major catalyst for industrial growth in southern Bihar by bridging technology gaps and integrating local MSMEs with global supply chains, thereby strengthening the economy of the historic Magadh region. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of MSME's nationwide network of Technology Centres and Extension Centres that support the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative for technological self-reliance and sustainable industrial growth.
