MSME Ministry Inaugurates ₹156 Crore Technology Centre in Bengaluru
Union Minister of State for MSME Sushri Shobha Karandlaje will inaugurate the Technology Centre at Devanahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka on September 10, 2026. The inauguration ceremony will be attended by Shri Krishna Byre Gowda, Minister for Greater Bengaluru Development and Parliamentary Affairs, and Shri Vijayanand Kashappanavar, Minister of Small Scale Industries & Public Enterprises of Karnataka, along with senior ministry officials, industry representatives, and local stakeholders. The event will feature an exhibition showcasing Indian MSME contributions to Aerospace & ESDM sectors.
The Technology Centre represents a ₹156 crore investment by the Ministry of MSME across a 10-acre land parcel provided by the Karnataka government. The facility includes modern infrastructure with Training Block, Production Block, Administrative Block, residential facilities for boys and girls, staff accommodation, executive hostel, and supporting facilities.
Focused on Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM), the centre is equipped with state-of-the-art machines including Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) Line, additive manufacturing, CNC 5-Axis and 3-Axis machines, and Electric Discharge Machine (EDM). It will provide comprehensive support through testing laboratories, design assistance, and business & technical advisory services to enhance MSME technological capabilities and competitiveness.
The centre is strategically located within an ecosystem of leading industries and institutions including Mitsubishi Electric India, Texas Instruments, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Airbus, Boeing, Philips, Wipro, GE, Centum Electronics, and numerous MSMEs engaged in aerospace, defence, semiconductor design, industrial automation, and advanced electronics manufacturing.
With capacity to train 10,000 trainees annually, the centre will provide industry-grade training in embedded system design, PCB Design and Assembly, automation & robotics, and maintenance and repair. It is envisaged as a key institution for strengthening the MSME ecosystem in electronics and aerospace sectors through advanced design, prototyping, production, training, and consultancy services, while contributing to employment generation and sustainable livelihoods in Karnataka.
