The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises is implementing the One Station One Product (OSOP) initiative under the PM Vishwakarma (PMV) scheme to support Divyangjan (disabled) artisans. This flagship government scheme aims to provide traditional artisans and craftspeople with support through three pillars: Samman, Samarthya, and Samriddhi (Prosperity).
The OSOP initiative establishes dedicated retail outlets at selected high-footfall railway stations to showcase and sell products made by Divyangjan Vishwakarma artisans. The program aims to expand market reach by increasing visibility, creating better sale opportunities, and providing sustainable livelihoods while fostering economic inclusion and financial independence for disabled artisans.
As of the reporting date, 28 Divyang beneficiaries from different trades have been facilitated with stalls at various stations under the OSOP initiative. The trade-wise allotments include: 5 cobblers across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi; 6 sculptors across Haryana, Odisha, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh; 5 carpenters across Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar, Gujarat, and Rajasthan; 6 doll and toy makers across Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Puducherry, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana; 2 metal smiths in Jharkhand; 2 basket makers in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra; and 2 tailors in Goa and Haryana.
The initiative has demonstrated transformative impact on Divyangjan artisans toward economic self-reliance. Shri Atul, a Divyang sculptor specializing in crystal-based statues and utility products, received skill training under the PMV Scheme and was allotted a retail outlet at Platform No. 1, Indore Railway Station in January 2026, with sales steadily rising since inauguration. Shri Ajeet Sharma, a Divyang metalsmith registered under PMV Scheme, was allotted a retail outlet near Deoghar railway station and earned ₹19,000 within 15 days through his handcrafted metal products. Sh. Ghanshyam Kumawat, a carpenter Divyangjan from Jaipur, Rajasthan, was allotted a retail outlet near Gandhinagar Railway Station and earned significant revenue within 15 days from his wood products, improving his family's economic status.
The OSOP initiative specifically addresses the unique challenges faced by Divyangjan artisans by providing resources and opportunities to enhance their skills, access markets, and improve livelihoods, creating an inclusive environment where these artisans can thrive and contribute to India's rich heritage.
