The Government of India has constituted a High-Powered Task Force chaired by Nandan Nilekani to examine and recommend comprehensive reforms for public examinations, including those conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Task Force is examining measures for strengthening institutional systems and processes, ensuring examination integrity and security, deploying appropriate technologies, augmenting examination infrastructure, promoting accessibility and inclusion, and safeguarding student well-being, with the objective of developing a robust, secure, transparent, equitable and future-ready public examination system.
As part of this exercise, the Task Force is inviting suggestions from various stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, academic institutions, examination-conducting bodies, subject matter experts, technology professionals, industry organisations, and civil society organisations. The suggestions may relate to conduct and security of public examinations, examination design and assessment methodology, governance and institutional arrangements, prevention and detection of malpractices, use of technology including secure Computer-Based Testing, creation of examination infrastructure, inclusive examination framework, transparency and grievance redressal, and measures to promote student well-being.
Stakeholders can submit their suggestions through multiple channels including a dedicated website (https://examreforms-taskforce.dopt.gov.in), phone (1800-180-4747), WhatsApp (+917827042830 with text 'hptf'), or email (ExamReformsTaskforce@dopt.gov.in) by September 13, 2026. Submissions may be made in English, Hindi, and regional languages. The inputs received through this public consultation will assist the High-Powered Task Force in formulating its recommendations to the Government.
