The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment published a case study showcasing the impact of the NSFDC Term Loan Scheme through the success story of Raghubir Singh, a 43-year-old tailor from Punjab. In 2025, Singh received financial assistance of Rs. 2.50 lakh under the scheme, which he utilized to install modern machines and expand his tailoring and embroidery business. This intervention significantly strengthened his existing livelihood and created better income generation opportunities.

Before receiving the assistance, Singh's monthly income stood at Rs. 10,000. Following the business expansion and effective utilization of the financial support, his monthly income increased to approximately Rs. 20,000, representing a 100% improvement. The increased income has strengthened his financial position and enabled more stable meeting of household needs. Singh has demonstrated financial discipline by making regular repayments of the loan while continuing to grow his business.

The case study emphasizes how timely financial support for self-employment can strengthen existing enterprises, increase income opportunities, and move individuals toward greater financial stability. Singh expressed satisfaction with the assistance, stating it helped expand his business, increase monthly income, and move toward greater self-reliance. His journey demonstrates NSFDC's role in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and promoting a stronger, more self-reliant society for individuals from disadvantaged communities.
