Parliamentary Committee Reports on Science Department Budget Utilization

The Parliamentary Committee on Science and Technology presented its 409th report on the 2026-27 Demands for Grants for the Department of Science and Technology.
The report highlights significant under-utilization of funds in the 2025-26 fiscal year, with only 59.95% of the Revised Estimate of ₹11,921.58 crore spent.
Key recommendations include improving fund utilization, expediting the Research, Development & Innovation (RDI) Fund, and enhancing the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).
The committee also reviewed the performance of autonomous institutions and missions like the National Supercomputing Mission and the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems.
