The Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) Annual Report for 2025 shows stable labor force participation at 59.3% and a 3.1% unemployment rate.
The proportion of workers in regular wage/salaried employment increased to 23.6%, while the share of self-employment declined to 56.2%.
The survey, based on a revamped design covering 2.7 lakh households, shows a decline in youth unemployment to 9.9% and a shift in employment from agriculture to manufacturing and services.
