PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana First Anniversary Progress Report

The Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) completes its first year of implementation on 11th October 2026, marking one year of focused agricultural development across 100 Aspirational Agricultural Districts. The scheme was approved by the Union Cabinet on 16th July 2025 for a six-year period and formally launched by the Prime Minister on 11th October 2025.

The scheme targets districts identified using three key indicators: low productivity, low cropping intensity, and less agricultural credit disbursement, with each State and Union Territory having at least one selected district. PMDDKY is being implemented through the convergence of 36 Central schemes across 11 Ministries and Departments, supplemented by State schemes and private sector participation.

Administrative Implementation Structure

The scheme follows a three-tier implementation structure: at the District Level, the District Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana Samiti headed by the District Collector/DM prepares and implements District Action Plans; at the State Level, the State Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana Samiti headed by the Chief Secretary reviews and monitors District Plans; and at the National Level, two committees oversee the scheme - the National Executive Committee headed by the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, and the National Monitoring Committee headed by the Secretary, DA&FW.

Progress and Performance Metrics

The PMDDKY dashboard became operational in the last week of October 2025, with monthly output-indicator rankings beginning in November 2025. All 100 districts have prepared District Action Plans currently under implementation, with committees constituted at all administrative levels. All districts submitted data against output indicators up to August 2026 and outcome indicator data for financial year 2025-26.

The average score of the 100 districts across six objectives increased significantly from 18.85 in April 2026 to 46.89 in August 2026, representing an improvement of 28.04 points. Objective-wise average scores showed substantial progress: Enhancing Agricultural productivity improved from 1.50 to 8.08; Encouraging Crop diversification and sustainable agricultural practices improved from 4.08 to 10.18; Augmenting post-harvest storage capacity improved from 2.14 to 5.19; Improving irrigation infrastructure improved from 1.38 to 4.91; Enabling greater access to short-term and long-term agricultural credit improved from 2.40 to 6.53; and Better governance & service delivery improved from 7.41 to 12.05.

Farmer Producer Organization Success Stories

The scheme has facilitated significant achievements through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). In Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, the Desaiganj Farmers Producer Co. Ltd. with 800 farmer members established a rice processing unit with 3 tonnes per hour capacity and a 900 metric tonne warehouse, achieving a turnover of Rs. 1.24 crore in FY 2025-26. In Tumakuru, Karnataka, the Tiptur Farmer Producer Co. Ltd. with 750 members supplies ball copra to a French multinational company, recording a turnover of Rs. 1.60 crore in FY 2025-26 and aggregating over 138 tonnes of copra worth Rs. 1.9 crore as of 12 September 2026. In Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, the Jaisalmer Krishi Fed Producer Co. Ltd. with 1,236 members practices Integrated Pest Management-based cumin cultivation across 2,000 acres using solar-powered sprinkler irrigation across 500 acres.

Additional Implementation Support

The Department of Public Enterprises has included adoption of DDKY districts for CSR activity by CPSEs for FY 2026-27 and 2027-28. The PM-DDKY FPO Sangam held in December 2025 brought together over 72 FPOs from 15 States and 33 PM-DDKY districts, facilitating knowledge exchange on productivity, market access, natural farming, oilseeds, beekeeping, protected cultivation, micro irrigation, institutional finance and digital agriculture.

Progress is tracked through 121 indicators across 36 schemes, comprising 74 output and 47 outcome indicators, with district performance on output indicators ranked monthly through the PM-DDKY dashboard at https://pmddky.niti.gov.in/.
