The Ministry of Culture announced the 8th edition of PM Mementos auction, which has been extended until October 31, 2026. This edition features two distinctive cultural artifacts from Sikkim: a finely crafted brass sculpture of Lord Buddha gifted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the Governor of Sikkim, and a Tibetan Buddhist tabletop prayer wheel (Mani Khorlo) embossed with the sacred "Om Mani Padme Hum" mantra. These artifacts represent Sikkim's unique artistic and spiritual heritage and are being made available to citizens and collectors through the national auction platform.
Proceeds from the auction will support the Namami Gange Project, continuing the initiative's dual purpose of cultural preservation and environmental conservation. Interested bidders can participate through the official PM Mementos e-Auction portal at https://pmmementos.gov.in. The initiative aims to serve as a unifying force by bringing diverse cultural traditions closer to citizens across India.
