The Ministry of Culture, through the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), New Delhi, is conducting the 8th edition of the PM Mementos e-Auction 2026, which commenced on September 17, 2026. This edition features a significant collection from Gujarat, showcasing the state's cultural heritage, traditional arts, architectural legacy, textiles, and contemporary achievements.
The auction includes 1,498 mementos from across India, with Gujarat's collection featuring several distinctive items. These include an architectural representation of the 17th-century Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple from Vadnagar with ornamentation inspired by the Ramayana and Mahabharata, sporting memorabilia from international table tennis player Manav Thakkar who has represented India at Commonwealth Games and Asian Championships, and a traditional Mata-ni-Pachedi textile painting depicting the Tree of Life concept.
Other Gujarat items include framed Pithora Painting associated with Rathwa, Bhil and Bhilala communities featuring horses and deities, India's first solar tile with engraved glass of Modhera Sun Temple combining heritage with solar energy advances, representations of Ambaji Temple, Somnath Temple and Dwarkadhish Ji, traditional Bhujodi shawl and Lippan art, replica model of AIIMS Rajkot, layered wooden architectural memento of Adalaj Stepwell, and Tata Electronics' commemorative semiconductor plaque titled "Charkha to Chips".
The auction proceeds are dedicated to supporting the Namami Gange Programme, the national mission for conservation, rejuvenation and protection of River Ganga and its ecosystem. Since the initiative began in January 2019, the PM Mementos e-Auction has raised more than ₹50 crore for the Namami Gange Project through its previous editions.
