The Ministry of Textiles provided a comprehensive progress update on the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks scheme, which was approved with a total outlay of ₹4,445 crore for the period 2021-22 to 2027-28. The scheme aims to develop integrated large-scale modern industrial infrastructure for the entire value-chain of the textile industry across seven states: Tamil Nadu (Virudhnagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navsari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow), and Maharashtra (Amravati).

Significant progress has been achieved with Memoranda of Understanding signed with all states and 100% land acquisition completed for all sites. Environmental clearances have been received for all PM MITRA Parks, and Joint Venture Agreements have been signed with SPVs incorporated for all five Greenfield sites. Detailed Project Reports amounting to ₹13,537 crore have been finalized for all seven states, while investment interests totaling ₹68,590 crore have been received by the PM MITRA states from private investors.

The state-wise breakdown shows Madhya Pradesh's Greenfield park has 2,158 acres available and has attracted the highest investment interest of ₹19,846 crore, with internal infrastructure work of ₹62 crore completed and ₹681 crore under progress, while the state government has incurred ₹94.06 crore expenditure. Tamil Nadu's Greenfield park has 1,052 acres available with ₹2,067.90 crore investment interest, ₹21 crore work completed, ₹346 crore under progress, and ₹34.80 crore state expenditure.

Gujarat's Greenfield park has 1,000 acres available with ₹13,094 crore investment interest, ₹6 crore work completed, and the highest state expenditure of ₹196.22 crore. Karnataka's Greenfield park has 1,142 acres available with ₹1,700 crore investment interest and ₹95.39 crore state expenditure. Uttar Pradesh's Greenfield park has 1,000 acres available with ₹5,354 crore investment interest, ₹23 crore work completed, ₹5 crore under progress, and ₹220.69 crore state expenditure.

For Brownfield sites, Telangana has 1,020 acres available with ₹3,800 crore investment interest, ₹300 crore work completed, ₹165 crore under progress, and ₹123.93 crore state expenditure. Maharashtra has 1,327 acres available with ₹12,000 crore investment interest, ₹112 crore work completed, and ₹32.21 crore state expenditure. Upon completion, each PM MITRA Park is expected to generate approximately 3 lakh employment, comprising 1 lakh direct and 2 lakh indirect jobs.
