Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will undertake an official visit to France and Slovakia from June 13-19, 2026, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. The visit comprises four distinct legs with specific diplomatic and economic objectives.

In the first leg from June 13-14 in Nice, France, PM Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with President Macron on June 14 to review the full spectrum of the India-France bilateral relationship, which was elevated to the level of a Special Global Strategic Partnership earlier this year. Both leaders will jointly inaugurate the 'Bharat Innovates' event, bringing together top innovation startups and Venture Capital funds from India, France, and other countries as part of the India-France Year of Innovation.

The second leg from June 14-16 constitutes the first-ever State Visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since its independence in 1993. PM Modi will hold talks with Prime Minister Fico and meet President Peter Pellegrini to explore new avenues of cooperation and reaffirm India's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations in various sectors including trade, investment, automobile manufacturing, and railway manufacturing.

The third leg from June 16-17 involves participation in the G7 Summit in Evian, France, where PM Modi will exchange views with G7 leaders and representatives from invited partner countries and International Organizations. The summit sessions will focus on Forging New Partnerships and Rebuilding International Solidarity; Reviving Balanced, Shared and Sustainable Economic Growth for all; and Ensuring a Safe, Rapid and Efficient Rollout of AI. PM Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders on the sidelines.

The final leg on June 18 includes further bilateral engagements in Paris and attendance at the VivaTech Summit, Europe's largest technology and startup event. The Prime Minister is also expected to address members of the Indian community in Paris.

This comprehensive visit aims to deepen India's partnerships with France, Slovakia, and the G7, reflecting India's standing as a leading voice of the Global South and a key partner in addressing global challenges. The participation in both Bharat Innovates and VivaTech Summit will spotlight India as a global hub for innovation, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship, potentially catalyzing new partnerships between Indian, French, and European technology ecosystems while reaffirming India's commitment to advancing its strategic partnership with the European Union.
