Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Outreach Session on 'Forging New Partnerships and Rebuilding International Solidarity' at the G7 Summit in Evian, France on June 16, 2026. In his intervention, the Prime Minister emphasized that in an interconnected world where energy, food, health, cyber, and economic security are intertwined, building international partnerships is necessary for humanity's progress and prosperity. He noted that in an uncertain world, trade and technology are being misused for narrow interests, creating a trust deficit in the international arena, and called upon nations to focus on building trust and transparency in global partnerships, drawing lessons from the COVID pandemic.
Sharing India's approach to international cooperation, Modi stated that India has always followed the 'humanity first' principle, which remains central to its efforts through initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, Global Bio-fuel Alliance, Mission LiFE, and the Ek Ped Maa ke Naam campaign. He highlighted India's role as a first responder during natural disasters worldwide, including cyclones in Sri Lanka, earthquakes in Afghanistan, floods in Mozambique, and hurricanes in Jamaica.
The Prime Minister elaborated on India's inclusive and sustainable growth, noting that the mantra of 'Sarv Jan Hitaye, Sarv Jan Sukhaye' (welfare and happiness for all) has yielded appreciable results in financial inclusion, health security, digital identity, technology-led empowerment, and women-led development. He advocated for international partnerships to move beyond the donor-recipient paradigm toward solidarity and equal ownership, emphasizing that lack of respect for international law is the biggest hurdle to building international solidarity and must be addressed as a priority. Modi concluded that international partnerships should prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to ensure peace and stability.
