Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on September 13, 2026, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi. The meeting focused on reviewing bilateral cooperation across multiple domains including political relations, trade, defence and security, connectivity, energy, critical minerals, emerging technologies, creative economy, and people-to-people ties. Prime Minister Modi highlighted India's ancient civilizational linkages with Kazakhstan and expressed satisfaction at the steady development of India-Kazakhstan relations in recent years. Both leaders exchanged perspectives on regional and international developments and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. This partnership is aimed at mutual benefit of their people as well as for peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region.
