Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by President Droupadi Murmu, will visit Odisha on June 20, 2026, to mark the completion of two years of the state government. The visit includes a program at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district with the theme 'Vikas ra Dhara, Odisha Sara', during which development projects worth over ₹47,600 crore will be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid.

The projects span multiple key sectors including energy, industrial infrastructure, road connectivity, drinking water, health, education, tourism, and irrigation. These initiatives are expected to strengthen infrastructure, improve connectivity, enhance energy security, and generate employment opportunities across Odisha, with particular focus on accelerating growth in tribal and rural regions.

Major energy projects include the foundation stone laying for the 600 MW Upper Indravati Pumped Storage Project and the Stage-II Expansion Project of the IB Thermal Power Station comprising two units of 660 MW each (totaling 1,320 MW). The foundation stone will also be laid for the Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL) Project at Lakhanpur in Jharsuguda district, which aims to promote cleaner utilization of domestic coal resources and reduce import dependence.

Other infrastructure projects include a 300 TPD source-segregated Municipal Solid Waste-based Compressed Biogas Plant at Bhubaneswar, a bridge over the river Kathajodi providing direct link between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, widening and strengthening of Dhalpur-Harbhanga Road in Boudh district, and four-laning of a section of NH-353 from Nuapada to Ghatipada. The Kusumdihi Megalift Irrigation Project, IGNOU Regional Centre, and Indoor Badminton Complex at Rairangpur are also among the projects.

Projects to be inaugurated include the 300-bedded District Headquarters Hospital building at Boudh, 24 Atal Bus Stands, and nine Automated Testing Stations across various districts of Odisha. Additional inaugurations include the Nayagarh Town Bypass on NH-57, Underground Pipeline component of Kusumi Smart Irrigation Project, Jakhapura-Jajpur Keonjhar Road-Baitarani Road Multi-Tracking Project, Hindol Road-Meramandali Multi-Tracking Project, Sports Complex, and Tribal Research Centre at Rairangpur.
