The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment showcased the success of the PM-YASASVI Scheme through the case study of Rajan Kumar, a 25-year-old OBC student who received financial assistance of ₹15.51 lakh during 2024–2026 to pursue his MBA degree. Kumar achieved 99.5 percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT) and gained admission to a prestigious business school, but faced significant financial constraints due to his family's limited income. The scholarship enabled him to focus entirely on his studies without financial worry, resulting in academic excellence, participation in management projects, and attainment of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. The scheme specifically targets meritorious students from Other Backward Class (OBC), Economically Backward Class (EBC), and Denotified Tribes (DNT) communities, providing top-class education opportunities in premier institutions to promote social mobility and build a more skilled India.
