The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, through its Department of Pharmaceuticals, reported that a total of 20,149 Jan Aushadhi Kendras (JAKs) have been opened across India under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) scheme as of June 30, 2026. The state-wise distribution shows significant penetration across all states and union territories, with Uttar Pradesh having the highest number of Kendras at 4,226, followed by Karnataka (1,720), Kerala (1,833), Tamil Nadu (1,631), Bihar (1,304), West Bengal (1,014), Gujarat (955), Rajasthan (794), Maharashtra (763), and Delhi (692). Other notable concentrations include Odisha (881), Punjab (572), Haryana (560), Andhra Pradesh (316), and Jammu and Kashmir (373). Smaller states and union territories show more modest numbers, with Ladakh having 3 Kendras, Lakshadweep 1, and Sikkim 17.
