President of India Droupadi Murmu attended the 'Seva Samman Parv' and 'Yuva Prabodhan' events during the Nuakhai festival celebrations in Raipur, Chhattisgarh on October 22, 2026. In her address, she characterized the Nuakhai Milan Samaroh as more than a cultural celebration, describing it as a tribute to India's rich traditions, social harmony, and unity that provides opportunities to reconnect with cultural roots and pass life values to future generations.
The President emphasized that the agricultural festival represents gratitude toward nature and community spirit, noting that food symbolizes farmer labor, Earth's generosity, and nature's gifts. She stated collective responsibility exists to respect food, acknowledge farmer contributions, and protect natural resources.
Addressing youth attendees, Murmu encouraged innovation, creation, and identity establishment despite varying circumstances and challenges. She advised aligning individual endeavors with collective and national goals to enable national progress, recommending big dreams, broadened horizons, high conduct standards, and society/nation service focus. She emphasized pursuing endeavors with honesty, integrity, and sensitivity, noting nation-building occurs through both major decisions and millions of citizens' small, sincere efforts.
The President highlighted substantial women participation in the events and stressed that equal women participation is absolutely essential for achieving India's Viksit Bharat 2047 development goal. She urged women to actively participate in national and societal affairs, noting their progress benefits entire society and nation. Murmu specifically called on men, particularly youth, to create environments where female family members can realize dreams without barriers, emphasizing that respect for women must reflect in behavior, mindset, and daily conduct rather than mere words.
She noted with satisfaction that Chhattisgarh youth have moved away from Naxalism and joined mainstream society through combined central/state government efforts and personal will, resulting in development replacing terror and accelerating state/country development while improving youth and family well-being.
