President Droupadi Murmu interacted with a group of grassroots innovators from the Atal Innovations Mission at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre on July 31, 2026, where she also visited an exhibition showcasing their innovations. The President emphasized India's potential to become a global powerhouse in grassroots innovation by leveraging its vast scale and spirit of innovation, noting that these innovations combine local experience, scientific thinking, individual creativity, and social responsibility to address societal needs effectively.

The exhibition demonstrated how grassroots innovators are contributing to multiple areas including converting waste into wealth, energy conservation, enhancing convenience for women and persons with disabilities, environmental protection, agriculture, and art preservation. The President highlighted that societal changes require not just ideas but also an enabling environment that guides talent and provides appropriate platforms and resources, acknowledging that Atal Community Innovation Centres are providing grassroots innovators with guidance, technical support, and opportunities to transform innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises.

President Murmu stated that the dream of Viksit Bharat will be realized when every citizen works with an innovation mindset to find solutions to problems, noting that various institutions and citizens are working together with a shared objective as a culture of innovation gains strength. She expressed confidence that the benefits of such efforts will reach a wide cross-section of society and advised innovators to continuously refine their innovations, foster collaborations with research institutions and industry, and strive to scale up their innovations to wider levels.
