Event Overview
On 18 August 2026, at the Millennial Awards 2026 held at JW Marriott, Chandigarh, the Finance Minister of Punjab, S. Harpal Singh Cheema presented the “Voice of Private Unaided Colleges of India” award to Dr. Anshu Kataria, President of the Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) and Chairman of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura.
Award Significance
The award recognises Dr. Kataria’s continuous efforts in raising the concerns of private unaided colleges and working for the welfare of students and educational institutions.
Government Scholarship Funding
During the ceremony, Dr. Kataria thanked the minister for reviving the Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) scheme for Punjabi students. The Punjab government has sanctioned Rs 432 crore to clear pending PMS dues for the financial years 2017‑2020 and has assured that additional pending funds will be disbursed in the coming months.
