Rajya Sabha Chairman Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan formally opened the 271st Session of the upper house of Parliament, noting that the session comprises 19 sittings dedicated to legislative and deliberative business of national importance. The Secretariat introduced a new live AI-based simultaneous interpretation system that currently supports nine languages through multimedia devices at members' seats, with plans to expand coverage to all twenty-two scheduled languages gradually. The Chairman emphasized the house's tradition of meaningful deliberations and urged members to maintain dignity, discipline, and decorum while avoiding disruptions that delay discussion on matters affecting the nation. He specifically appealed for focused attention on the timely disposal of business and requested feedback from members on the new interpretation facility for further improvements.
