Policy Rates and Liquidity
The RBI disclosed that the weighted average rate for the overnight money‑market segment stood at 5.00% with a volume of 6,04,620.57 crore rupees. Within this segment, Call Money traded 14,865.67 crore at 5.09%, Triparty Repo 4,12,484.75 crore at 4.98%, Market Repo 1,70,364.40 crore at 5.04%, and Repo in Corporate Bonds 6,905.75 crore at 5.29%. The term segment showed Notice Money of 200.40 crore at 5.05% and Term Money of 1,333.00 crore (rate not applicable). Triparty Repo in the term segment amounted to 4,285.70 crore at 5.01% and Market Repo 738.92 crore at 5.24%; no corporate‑bond repo was executed.
On 11 August 2026, the RBI conducted reverse‑repo operations of 39,141.00 crore rupees for a 1‑day tenor and 42,560.00 crore for a 3‑day tenor, both at a rate of 5.24%. The Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) was accessed for 560.00 crore rupees at 5.50% for a 1‑day tenor, while the Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) absorbed 1,68,358.00 crore rupees at 5.00% for the same tenor. Net liquidity injected from today’s operations was a withdrawal of 2,49,499.00 crore rupees.
Outstanding reverse‑repo operations from 10 August 2026 (7‑day tenor) totalled 95,810.00 crore rupees at 5.24%. The Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from the RBI amounted to 10,594.66 crore rupees. Net liquidity absorbed from outstanding operations was 85,215.34 crore rupees, leading to an overall net liquidity absorption of 3,34,714.34 crore rupees when today’s and outstanding operations are combined.
Banking and Credit
Cash reserves of scheduled commercial banks as of 11 August 2026 were 7,75,373.94 crore rupees. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending 15 August 2026 was projected at 8,03,001.00 crore rupees. The Government of India reported a surplus cash balance of zero for the auction on the same date. Net durable liquidity, reflecting surplus or deficit, stood at 5,36,080.00 crore rupees as of 15 July 2026.
Capital Markets and Flows
The total money‑market volume for the overnight segment (including all sub‑segments) reached 6,04,620.57 crore rupees, with rates ranging between 4.00% and 5.40%. The term segment contributed an additional 2,? (sum of listed volumes) crore rupees, with rates spanning 4.85% to 7.40% across various instruments. These figures illustrate the depth and pricing dynamics of the Indian money‑market on the reporting date.
