Policy Rates and Liquidity

The RBI reported zero transaction volumes and no weighted‑average rates for all overnight (Call Money, Triparty Repo, Market Repo, Repo in Corporate Bond) and term‑segment instruments (Notice Money, Term Money, Triparty Repo, Market Repo, Repo in Corporate Bond). On 02 Oct 2026 the Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) was operated for a one‑day tenor, injecting ₹566.00 crore at a rate of 5.50 %. Two‑day and three‑day tenors recorded no operations. The Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) on the same day accepted ₹1,33,186.00 crore for a one‑day tenor at 5.00 % and ₹135.00 crore for a two‑day tenor at the same rate; the three‑day tenor had no operation. Net liquidity injected from today’s operations was a withdrawal of ₹1,32,755.00 crore.

Outstanding operations included reverse repo transactions dated 01 Oct 2026: a four‑day tenor of ₹1,68,055.00 crore, a twenty‑six‑day tenor of ₹36,949.00 crore and a thirty‑day tenor of ₹1,06,176.00 crore, all at a rate of 5.24 %. No outstanding MSF operations were recorded. SDF outstanding balances on 01 Oct 2026 were ₹3,841.00 crore for a two‑day tenor and ₹1,138.00 crore for a four‑day tenor, both at 5.00 %; the three‑day tenor was nil. Net liquidity absorbed from outstanding operations amounted to ₹3,12,045.82 crore, leading to a cumulative net liquidity absorption (including today’s operations) of ₹4,44,800.82 crore.

The Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from the RBI amounted to ₹4,113.18 crore.

Banking and Credit

Cash reserves of scheduled commercial banks as on 02 Oct 2026 were ₹9,15,434.39 crore. The average daily cash reserve requirement (CRR) for the fortnight ending 15 Oct 2026 was ₹8,17,219.00 crore.

Financial Stability

The net durable liquidity position, representing surplus or deficit, was recorded as a surplus of ₹13,93,819.00 crore as of 15 Sep 2026.

Regulatory and Policy Measures
