Policy Rates and Liquidity
The RBI, in consultation with the Government of India, has scheduled weekly auctions of Treasury Bills for the July‑September 2026 quarter. Each auction will issue ₹9,000 crore of 91‑day bills, ₹8,000 crore of 182‑day bills and ₹7,000 crore of 364‑day bills, amounting to a total of ₹24,000 crore per auction.
Capital Markets and Flows
The cumulative issuance for the quarter is projected at ₹1,26,000 crore for 91‑day bills, ₹1,12,000 crore for 182‑day bills and ₹98,000 crore for 364‑day bills, aggregating to ₹336,000 crore of Treasury Bills to be placed in the market.
Regulatory and Policy Measures
The RBI retains flexibility to modify the announced amounts or auction dates in response to government financing needs, evolving market conditions, or intervening holidays, with any changes to be communicated through press releases. The auctions will be conducted under the terms of General Notification No. F.No.4(2)-B(W&M)/2018 dated 26 March 2025, as amended from time to time.
The calendar provides a clear framework for Treasury Bill placements, supporting government borrowing and market liquidity, while allowing adjustments as required.
