Policy rates and liquidity
The Reserve Bank of India, after reviewing current and evolving liquidity conditions, has decided to conduct a second Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) auction on Friday, September 11, 2026. The auction will make available a notified amount of ₹5,00,000 crore for a tenor of four days. Bidding will be open between 11:00 am and 11:30 am on the auction day. The reverse repo operations will be reversed on September 15, 2026 (Tuesday).
The operational guidelines governing this auction will continue to follow those outlined in the RBI Press Release dated February 13, 2020 (Press Release 2019‑2020/1947). No changes to the procedural framework have been introduced.

The announcement is issued under the authority of the Deputy General Manager, Communications, Ajit Prasad, who has signed the press release (2026‑2027/1097). This action reflects the RBI’s ongoing use of the Liquidity Adjustment Facility to manage short‑term liquidity in the banking system.
