The Reserve Bank of India has decided to conduct a Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) auction on 11 September 2026. The notified amount is ₹5,00,000 crore for a tenor of 26 days. The auction window is from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, and the reversal of the lent amount is scheduled for 7 October 2026 (Wednesday).
Regulatory and Policy Measures
The operational guidelines for this auction will be the same as those issued in RBI Press Release 2019‑2020/1947 dated 13 February 2020. Participants may request premature reversal of the lent amount through the E‑Kuber portal between 09:00 and 17:00 hours on working days in Mumbai. Partial reversal of a bid is permitted. Once a request is placed on the portal, it must also be communicated via email to laffmd@rbi.org.in, addressed to the Financial Markets Operations Department. Settlement of a premature reversal will occur at the start of the next working day after the request is placed, with the participant’s current account credited with principal and accrued interest, and the securities offered as collateral debited from the reverse repo constituent SGL account. Requests for premature reversal must be submitted at least two working days before the originally scheduled reversal date.
