Policy Rates and Liquidity
The RBI, after reviewing current and evolving liquidity conditions, has decided to conduct a Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) auction on Thursday, 5 November 2026, under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF). A total of ₹75,000 crore will be offered for a one‑day tenor. Bidding will be open from 09:30 AM to 10:00 AM, and the reversal of funds is scheduled for Friday, 6 November 2026.
Regulatory and Policy Measures
The operational guidelines for this VRRR auction will continue to follow those set out in the RBI Press Release dated 13 February 2020 (Release 2019‑2020/1947). No amendments to the auction mechanism, eligibility criteria, or procedural aspects are announced. The notice is signed by Deputy General Manager Ajit Prasad, Communications.
The RBI’s decision to inject ₹75,000 crore of overnight liquidity via a VRRR auction underscores its ongoing effort to fine‑tune short‑term liquidity conditions through the LAF, using established guidelines without any procedural modifications.
