Regulatory and policy measures

The Reserve Bank of India has initiated the July 2026 round of its Rural Consumer Confidence Survey (RCCS). The survey spans households residing in rural and semi‑urban areas across thirty‑one states and union territories, namely Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, NCT of Delhi, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Union Territory of Ladakh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

The purpose of the RCCS is to collect current perceptions and one‑year‑ahead expectations of households regarding the general economic situation, employment scenario, overall price situation, own income and spending. The results are intended to provide useful inputs for the formulation of monetary policy.

Ipsos Research Private Ltd., based in Gurugram, has been engaged by the RBI to conduct the fieldwork for this round. Selected households will be approached directly by the agency. Additionally, any individual not approached by the agency may participate by submitting responses through the linked online survey schedule. Completed survey schedules may be emailed as per the contact details provided.

For queries or clarifications, respondents are instructed to contact the Director, Division of Household Surveys, Department of Statistics and Information Management, Reserve Bank of India, located at C‑8, 2nd Floor, Bandra‑Kurla Complex, Bandra (East), Mumbai‑400 051. Phone numbers are 022‑2657 8398 and 022‑2657 8332, and email communication can be sent to dhs@rbi.org.in.

The press release is signed by Ajit Prasad (Communications), Deputy General Manager, under the reference Press Release: 2026‑2027/636.
