Policy Rates and Liquidity

The RBI’s overnight money‑market segment (I+II+III+IV) recorded a total one‑leg volume of ₹11,208.50 crore with a weighted average rate of 4.84% and a rate range of 4.00‑5.35%. Call Money contributed ₹1,361.70 crore at 4.95% (range 4.70‑5.35%), Triparty Repo contributed ₹9,533.70 crore at 4.84% (range 4.50‑5.05%), and Market Repo contributed ₹313.10 crore at 4.32% (range 4.00‑4.55%). No transactions were recorded under Repo in Corporate Bond.

In the term segment, Notice Money showed a rate of 4.80% with a uniform range of 4.85%‑4.85%; all other term‑segment instruments (Term Money, Triparty Repo, Market Repo, Repo in Corporate Bond) reported zero activity.

Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF), Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) and Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) operations for the day included: MSF on 01‑Aug‑2026 for a 1‑day tenor, amount ₹259.00 crore at a rate of 5.50%; SDF on the same day for a 2‑day tenor (₹13.00 crore at 5.50%) and a 1‑day tenor (₹1,82,887.00 crore at 5.00%). An additional SDF operation for a 2‑day tenor on 01‑Aug‑2026 amounted to ₹20,054.00 crore at 5.00%.

Net liquidity injected from today’s operations was a withdrawal of ₹2,02,669.00 crore. Outstanding operations showed zero outstanding amounts for Fixed‑Rate and Variable‑Rate repo/reverse‑repo, while MSF outstanding on 31‑Jul‑2026 for 2‑day and 3‑day tenors each stood at ₹0.00 at 5.50%. SDF outstanding on 31‑Jul‑2026 recorded ₹0.00 for the 2‑day tenor and ₹1,808.00 crore for the 3‑day tenor at 5.00%.

Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from RBI amounted to ₹12,979.66 crore. Net liquidity injected from outstanding operations was ₹11,171.66 crore, leading to an overall net liquidity injection (including today’s operations) of a deficit of ₹1,91,497.34 crore.

Banking and Credit

Cash reserves of scheduled commercial banks as on 01‑Aug‑2026 were ₹9,05,232.67 crore with the RBI. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending 15‑Aug‑2026 was ₹8,03,001.00 crore. The Government of India’s surplus cash balance reckoned for auction as on 31‑Jul‑2026 was ₹0.00. Net durable liquidity (surplus/deficit) as on 15‑Jul‑2026 stood at ₹5,36,080.00 crore.
