Money Market Operations Overview

Overnight Segment Details
Call Money saw a volume of ₹15,677.12 crore at an average rate of 5.09% (range 4.00‑5.15%). Triparty Repo volume was ₹4,10,804.20 crore with a weighted average rate of 4.96% (range 4.80‑5.05%). Market Repo amounted to ₹1,79,931.89 crore at 5.00% (range 2.00‑5.25%). Repo in Corporate Bonds recorded a modest ₹6,755.75 crore at 5.24% (range 5.15‑5.35%).
Term Segment Details
Notice Money (uncollateralised 2‑14 day tenor) posted a weighted average rate of 5.01% on a volume of ₹148.25 crore (range 4.85‑5.12%). Term Money (uncollateralised 15 day‑1 year tenor) showed a rate of 5.45‑6.15% on ₹1,231.50 crore. Triparty Repo in the term segment recorded ₹1,025.00 crore at 5.09% (range 5.00‑5.25%). Market Repo was ₹820.00 crore at a flat 5.20% rate. No repo in corporate bonds was executed (₹0.00).
Liquidity Operations
Today's operations under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF), Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) and Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) resulted in a net liquidity absorption of ₹2,29,969 crore (injection negative). Specific MSF transactions: a 1‑day operation on 07/08/2026 with a rate of 5.50% and amount ₹7.00 crore; a 2‑day operation with zero amount at 5.50%; a 3‑day operation of ₹579.00 crore at 5.50%. SDF injections on 07/08/2026 were ₹2,25,002 crore for 1‑day, ₹90.00 crore for 2‑day, and ₹5,463.00 crore for 3‑day, each at 5.00%.
Outstanding operations (as of 06/08/2026) included a reverse repo of ₹1,30,286 crore at 5.24% for a 4‑day tenor. Net liquidity injected from outstanding operations was a withdrawal of ₹1,19,691.34 crore, leading to an overall net liquidity outflow (including today’s operations) of ₹3,49,660.34 crore.
Cash Reserve Position
Cash reserves of scheduled commercial banks as of 07 August 2026 stood at ₹7,84,451.54 crore. The average daily cash reserve requirement (CRR) for the fortnight ending 15 August 2026 was ₹8,03,001.00 crore.
Government Surplus Cash Balance
The Government of India’s surplus cash balance available for auction was ₹5,36,080.00 crore as of 07 August 2026 (also noted on 15 July 2026).
Standing Liquidity Facility
Banks availed ₹10,594.66 crore under the Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) from the RBI.
