Policy Rates and Liquidity
The RBI conducted its daily liquidity operations on 30 September 2026. In the reverse repo operation, a tenor of one day was auctioned for ₹85,424.00 crore at a rate of 5.24 %. The Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) was offered for one day at ₹6,451.00 crore with a rate of 5.50 %. The Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) was offered for one day at ₹2,67,406.00 crore at a rate of 5.00 %. Net liquidity injected from today’s operations was a net absorption of ₹3,46,379.00 crore. Outstanding reverse repo operations dated 11 September 2026 (tenor 26 days) and 7 September 2026 (tenor 30 days) amounted to ₹36,949.00 crore and ₹1,06,176.00 crore respectively, both at a rate of 5.24 %. The net liquidity injected from outstanding operations was a net absorption of ₹1,39,011.82 crore. Cumulatively, net liquidity injected (including today’s and outstanding operations) amounted to a net absorption of ₹4,85,390.82 crore.
Banking and Credit
Cash reserves of scheduled commercial banks as on 30 September 2026 stood at ₹8,01,771.01 crore. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending 30 September 2026 was ₹8,21,989.00 crore.
Capital Markets and Flows
In the overnight segment (including Call Money, Triparty Repo, Market Repo and Repo in Corporate Bond) the total one‑leg volume was ₹6,71,792.20 crore. The weighted average rate for the overnight segment was 5.10 % with a range of 4.00 % to 5.75 %. Call Money contributed ₹10,354.82 crore at an average rate of 5.22 % (range 4.60‑5.30 %). Triparty Repo contributed ₹4,79,348.35 crore at 5.07 % (range 4.85‑5.38 %). Market Repo contributed ₹1,76,419.98 crore at 5.15 % (range 4.00‑5.30 %). Repo in Corporate Bond contributed ₹5,669.05 crore at 5.25 % (range 5.21‑5.75 %).
In the term segment, Notice Money volume was ₹189.00 crore at 5.01 % (range 4.85‑5.15 %). Term Money volume was ₹16.00 crore with a quoted rate band of 5.50‑5.55 % (rate not disclosed). Triparty Repo volume was ₹6,686.35 crore at 5.22 % (range 5.15‑5.25 %). Market Repo volume was ₹65.06 crore at 5.44 % (range 5.40‑5.45 %). Repo in Corporate Bond volume was ₹329.05 crore at a fixed rate of 6.90 % (range 6.90‑6.90 %).
Financial Stability and Inclusion
The net absorption of liquidity of ₹4,85,390.82 crore reflects the RBI’s stance of tightening liquidity in the system as of the end of September 2026.
