Policy Rates and Liquidity

The overnight segment (categories I‑IV) recorded a total volume of ₹6,87,370 crore with a weighted average rate of 5.07% and a rate range of 3.90‑6.00%. Within this segment, call money amounted to ₹13,611.26 crore at 5.21% (range 4.60‑5.30%), triparty repo to ₹4,77,832.85 crore at 5.08% (range 5.00‑5.55%), market repo to ₹1,88,855.39 crore at 5.02% (range 3.90‑6.00%), and repo in corporate bonds to ₹7,070.50 crore at 5.26% (range 5.20‑5.40%).

In the term segment, notice money stood at ₹1,703.44 crore with an average rate of 5.13% (range 4.60‑5.40%). Term money volume was ₹2,064.50 crore with a rate band of 5.50‑6.20% (rate not disclosed). Triparty repo for the term segment was ₹633.80 crore at 5.10% (range 4.95‑5.20%) and market repo was ₹170.97 crore at 5.38% (range 5.35‑5.45%). No repo in corporate bonds was recorded for the term segment.

Today's liquidity operations (dated 27‑08‑2026) included a reverse repo of ₹1,42,622 crore for a one‑day tenor at a cut‑off rate of 5.24%, a Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) of ₹2,401 crore for one day at 5.50%, and a Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) of ₹1,49,083 crore for one day at 5.00%. The net liquidity injected from today's operations was a deficit of ₹2,89,304 crore.

Outstanding operations as of 24‑08‑2026 showed a reverse repo of ₹91,980 crore for a seven‑day tenor maturing on 31‑08‑2026 at a rate of 5.24%. Net liquidity injected from outstanding operations was a deficit of ₹85,638.34 crore. Including today's operations, the cumulative net liquidity injected (outstanding plus today) amounted to a deficit of ₹3,74,942.34 crore. The Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from RBI amounted to ₹6,341.66 crore.

Banking and Credit

Cash reserve positions of scheduled commercial banks as of 27‑08‑2026 were reported, with the average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending 31‑08‑2026 recorded at ₹8,67,792.37 crore and ₹8,17,404.00 crore respectively. The Government of India surplus cash balance reckoned for auction on 27‑08‑2026 was ₹0.00. Net durable liquidity as of 31‑07‑2026 stood at a surplus of ₹6,79,145.00 crore.
