Policy Rates and Liquidity

The Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) was operated on 04/08/2026 for a tenor of 1 day, with an amount of 345.00 crore rupees at a rate of 5.50%. The Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) was also operated on the same date for a tenor of 1 day, with an amount of 3,45,717.00 crore rupees at a rate of 5.00%. Net liquidity injected from today’s operations amounted to -3,45,372.00 crore rupees (injection). From outstanding operations, the net liquidity injected (including today’s operations) was -3,33,512.34 crore rupees. Additionally, the Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from RBI amounted to 11,859.66 crore rupees.

Capital Markets and Flows

The overnight money‑market segment (comprising segments I to IV) recorded a total one‑leg volume of 6,32,200.47 crore rupees with a weighted average rate of 4.90% and a rate range of 2.00‑5.45%. Breakdown of the overnight segment:

  • Call Money: volume 12,051.13 crore rupees, weighted average rate 5.06% (range 4.50‑5.20%).
  • Triparty Repo: volume 4,36,898.60 crore rupees, weighted average rate 4.88% (range 4.41‑5.00%).
  • Market Repo: volume 1,76,402.09 crore rupees, weighted average rate 4.92% (range 2.00‑5.25%).
  • Repo in Corporate Bond: volume 6,848.65 crore rupees, weighted average rate 5.26% (range 5.20‑5.45%).

In the term segment, the following operations were reported:

  • Notice Money: volume 226.00 crore rupees, weighted average rate 5.03% (range 4.85‑5.10%).
  • Term Money: volume 855.00 crore rupees, rate not disclosed, range 5.55‑5.75%.
  • Triparty Repo: volume 5,530.00 crore rupees, weighted average rate 4.99% (range 4.80‑5.20%).
  • Market Repo and Repo in Corporate Bond: no transactions (volume 0.00).

Banking and Credit

Cash reserves of scheduled commercial banks as on 04 August 2026 stood at 7,91,727.69 crore rupees. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending 15 August 2026 was 8,03,001.00 crore rupees. The Government of India’s surplus cash balance reckoned for auction was 5,36,080.00 crore rupees.
