Policy Rates and Liquidity
The RBI disclosed that the total overnight money market volume on July 14 amounted to ₹6,51,261.72 crore. The weighted average rate for the overnight segment was 5.13% with a rate range of 4.00% to 6.30%. Within the overnight segment, call money volume stood at ₹22,662.51 crore at an average rate of 5.24% (range 4.60%‑5.30%). Triparty repo volume was ₹4,42,650.85 crore at 5.09% (range 5.00%‑5.20%). Market repo volume was ₹1,78,336.51 crore at 5.19% (range 4.00%‑5.60%). Repo in corporate bonds recorded a volume of ₹7,611.85 crore at an average rate of 5.38% (range 5.35%‑6.30%).
In the term segment, notice money volume was ₹60.50 crore at 5.13% (range 4.90%‑5.20%). Term money volume was ₹267.00 crore with a rate band of 5.50%‑5.70%. Triparty repo in the term segment amounted to ₹6,871.50 crore at 5.17% (range 5.11%‑5.30%). Market repo in the term segment was ₹469.76 crore at a flat rate of 5.50%. No repo in corporate bonds was recorded for the term segment.
The Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) operation on 14 July 2026 involved ₹201.00 crore at a rate of 5.50% for a one‑day tenor. The Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) operation on the same day involved ₹1,59,077.00 crore at a rate of 5.00% for a one‑day tenor. Net liquidity injected from today’s operations was –₹1,58,876.00 crore, indicating overall liquidity absorption. Outstanding operations contributed a net liquidity injection of ₹10,083.82 crore, while the combined net liquidity injection including today’s operations amounted to –₹1,48,792.18 crore.
Banking and Credit
Cash reserves of scheduled commercial banks as of 14 July 2026 were ₹7,68,838.88 crore. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending 15 July 2026 was ₹7,98,115.00 crore. The Government of India’s surplus cash balance reckoned for auction stood at ₹4,82,130.00 crore as of 14 July 2026, reflecting the net durable liquidity position.
