Policy Rates and Liquidity
On June 27, 2026 the RBI operated its Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) for a one‑day tenor, injecting ₹414.00 crore at a rate of 5.50 per cent. A two‑day MSF operation was conducted with zero amount at the same rate. The Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) was used for a one‑day tenor, accepting ₹1,23,550.00 crore at 5.00 per cent, and a two‑day tenor, accepting ₹345.00 crore at 5.00 per cent. The net liquidity effect of today’s operations was a withdrawal of ₹1,23,481.00 crore from the system.
Money Market Activity
All overnight and term money‑market segments – including call money, triparty repo, market repo and repo in corporate bonds – recorded zero volume and no rates for the reporting date.
Outstanding Operations
Repo operations outstanding include a four‑day repo placed on Thursday, 25 June 2026 for ₹16,800.00 crore at 5.26 per cent, and a seven‑day repo placed on Tuesday, 23 June 2026 for ₹1,41,171.00 crore at 5.26 per cent.
MSF outstanding positions as of 26 June 2026 comprised zero amounts for two‑day and three‑day tenors, and a four‑day tenor on 25 June 2026 amounting to ₹282.00 crore at 5.50 per cent.
SDF outstanding positions included ₹90.00 crore for a two‑day tenor and ₹2,318.00 crore for a three‑day tenor on 26 June 2026, both at 5.00 per cent. Additionally, on 25 June 2026 the SDF held ₹225.00 crore for a three‑day tenor and ₹2,106.00 crore for a four‑day tenor, each at 5.00 per cent.
Overall Liquidity Position
The Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from the RBI amounted to ₹10,754.89 crore. Net liquidity injected from outstanding operations (excluding today’s) was ₹1,64,268.89 crore, while the combined net liquidity injection, including today’s operations, stood at ₹40,787.89 crore.
Banking and Credit
Cash reserves of scheduled commercial banks as of 27 June 2026 were ₹8,08,812.10 crore, with the average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending 30 June 2026 estimated at ₹8,01,069.00 crore. The Government of India’s surplus cash balance available for auction on 25 June 2026 was ₹16,800.00 crore, and net durable liquidity as of 31 May 2026 was reported at ₹4,86,400.00 crore.
Overall, the RBI’s operations on 27 June 2026 reflected a net liquidity absorption of over ₹1.23 lakh crore, zero activity in money‑market segments, and continued provision of liquidity through MSF and SDF at prevailing policy rates, while maintaining substantial cash reserves in the banking system.
