Policy Rates and Liquidity
The RBI disclosed that the overnight money market segment (including Call Money, Triparty Repo, Market Repo and Repo in Corporate Bond) recorded a total volume of ₹7,24,312.63 crore with a weighted average rate of 5.06% and a rate range of 0.01‑5.40%. Call Money contributed ₹12,676.98 crore at an average rate of 5.12% (range 4.60‑5.25%). Triparty Repo accounted for ₹5,21,789.30 crore at 5.06% (range 4.73‑5.18%). Market Repo volume was ₹1,84,165.55 crore at 5.07% (range 0.01‑5.40%). Repo in Corporate Bond amounted to ₹5,680.80 crore at 5.19% (range 5.15‑5.35%).
In the term segment, Notice Money volume was ₹223.70 crore at 5.10% (range 4.85‑5.15%). Term Money volume was ₹421.50 crore with rates between 5.30‑6.10% (rate not disclosed). Triparty Repo in the term segment was ₹3,555.00 crore at 5.20% (range 5.15‑5.30%). Market Repo in the term segment showed a volume of ₹2,552.57 crore at an average rate of 5.23% (range 5.10‑5.30%). Repo in Corporate Bond for the term segment was ₹150.00 crore at a fixed rate of 6.90%.
Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) operations on 06/10/2026 included a reverse repo of ₹1,92,357.00 crore at 5.24% (tenor 1 day), a Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) of ₹475.00 crore at 5.50% (tenor 1 day), and a Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) of ₹1,67,822.00 crore at 5.00% (tenor 1 day). The net liquidity injected from today’s operations was a withdrawal of ₹3,59,704.00 crore. Outstanding reverse repo operations as of 07/10/2026 comprised ₹36,949.00 crore (tenor 26 days) and ₹1,06,176.00 crore (tenor 30 days) both at 5.24%. The net liquidity absorbed from outstanding operations was ₹1,39,011.82 crore, leading to an overall net liquidity absorption of ₹4,98,715.82 crore when today’s operations are included. The Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from the RBI amounted to ₹4,113.18 crore.
Banking and Credit
Cash reserves of scheduled commercial banks as on 06 October 2026 were ₹8,01,648.78 crore. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending 15 October 2026 was ₹8,17,219.00 crore.
External Sector and Government Liquidity
The Government of India’s surplus cash balance reckoned for auction as on 06 October 2026 was ₹13,93,819.00 crore, indicating a net durable liquidity surplus on that date.
