Policy Rates and Liquidity
The RBI disclosed that the total volume in the money markets on September 2, 2026 was 6,55,609.02 crore rupees. Today's Operations (September 2‑3, 2026)
The RBI conducted variable‑rate repo and reverse‑repo operations amounting to 4,59,843.00 crore at a rate of 5.24%. The Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) was utilised for 139.00 crore at 5.50%, and the Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) absorbed 2,67,935.00 crore at 5.00%. The net effect of today’s operations was a liquidity absorption of 7,27,639.00 crore.
Outstanding Operations (as of September 1‑8, 2026)
Outstanding reverse‑repo operations from September 1 to September 8 amounted to 1,14,320.00 crore at 5.24%, and a further tranche of 1,34,625.00 crore from August 31 to September 15 also at 5.24%. Net durable liquidity (surplus/deficit) as of August 15, 2026 stood at 8,05,736.00 crore. Additionally, the Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from the RBI amounted to 6,321.50 crore.
