The Reserve Bank, after reviewing current and evolving liquidity conditions, has decided to conduct open market operations (OMO) by selling Government of India securities for a total aggregate amount of ₹1,00,000 crore. The sale will be executed in three tranches: ₹50,000 crore on September 17, 2026; ₹25,000 crore on September 21, 2026; and ₹25,000 crore on September 28, 2026.

The Reserve Bank reserves the right to adjust the quantum of each security, accept bids for less than the aggregate amount, sell marginally higher or lower due to rounding‑off, and to accept or reject any bids wholly or partially without assigning a reason.

Regulatory and Policy Measures

Eligible participants must submit bids electronically through the RBI Core Banking Solution (E‑Kuber) between 9:30 am and 10:30 am on September 17, 2026. In the event of a system failure, physical bids may be submitted to the Financial Markets Operations Department (email: laffmd@rbi.org.in, phone: 022‑22630982) using the prescribed form available on the RBI website, and must be received before 10:30 am on the same day. The auction result will be announced on the same day, and successful participants are required to ensure that the securities are available in their SGL account by 12 noon on September 18, 2026.
