Policy Rates and Liquidity
The RBI conducted a repo operation on 16 June 2026 with a 7‑day tenor, maturing on 23 June 2026, injecting ₹89,440.00 crore at a rate of 5.26%. The Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) was operated for a 1‑day tenor, maturing on 17 June 2026, injecting ₹425.00 crore at 5.50%. The Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) was also operated for a 1‑day tenor, maturing on 17 June 2026, injecting ₹124,251.00 crore at 5.00%. Net liquidity injected from today’s operations amounted to a withdrawal of ₹34,386.00 crore.
Money Market Volume and Rates
In the overnight segment (I+II+III+IV), total volume reached ₹6,95,500.75 crore with a weighted average rate of 5.30% and a rate range of 4.00‑5.65%. Call Money contributed ₹18,276.53 crore at an average rate of 5.36% (range 4.20‑5.45%). Triparty Repo accounted for ₹4,96,403.35 crore at 5.30% (range 5.00‑5.45%). Market Repo volume was ₹1,74,074.57 crore at 5.28% (range 4.00‑5.50%). Repo in Corporate Bonds amounted to ₹6,746.30 crore at 5.38% (range 5.35‑5.65%).
In the term segment, Notice Money volume was ₹231.40 crore with an average rate of 5.09% (range 4.85‑5.30%). Term Money volume stood at ₹564.00 crore with a rate range of 5.60‑6.60%. Triparty Repo volume was ₹1,400.00 crore at an average rate of 5.26% (range 5.20‑5.45%). Market Repo volume was ₹812.96 crore at an average rate of 5.49% (range 5.46‑5.50%). No repo activity in corporate bonds was recorded for the term segment.
Banking and Credit – Cash Reserve Position
Scheduled commercial banks held cash balances with the RBI of ₹8,04,418.32 crore as of 16 June 2026. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending 30 June 2026 was ₹8,01,069.00 crore.
Overall Liquidity Position
Net liquidity injected from outstanding operations (including today’s) was a surplus of ₹10,504.79 crore, while the combined net liquidity from outstanding and today’s operations resulted in an overall absorption of ₹23,881.21 crore. The Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from the RBI amounted to ₹10,504.79 crore. The Government of India’s surplus cash balance available for auction on 16 June 2026 was ₹89,440.00 crore. Net durable liquidity as of 31 May 2026 showed a surplus of ₹4,86,400.00 crore.
