The Reserve Bank of India released provisional data on daily merchant and inter‑bank foreign exchange transactions for the week of 24‑28 August 2026. On 24‑08‑2026 merchant purchases were USD 6,206 million spot, USD 1,367 million forward and USD 1,636 million cancellation of forwards; inter‑bank purchases were USD 15,581 million spot, USD 25,317 million swap and USD 2,448 million forward. Merchant sales on the same day were USD 6,963 million spot, USD 2,304 million forward and USD 1,175 million cancellation of forwards; inter‑bank sales were USD 14,410 million spot, USD 25,104 million swap and USD 2,513 million forward.
On 25‑08‑2026 merchant purchases rose to USD 8,959 million spot, USD 2,497 million forward and USD 2,523 million cancellation of forwards; inter‑bank purchases were USD 23,275 million spot, USD 24,602 million swap and USD 3,283 million forward. Merchant sales were USD 8,232 million spot, USD 4,270 million forward and USD 1,782 million cancellation of forwards; inter‑bank sales were USD 22,931 million spot, USD 27,328 million swap and USD 2,595 million forward.
On 27‑08‑2026 merchant purchases peaked at USD 14,596 million spot, USD 5,368 million forward and USD 7,144 million cancellation of forwards; inter‑bank purchases reached USD 26,692 million spot, USD 33,587 million swap and USD 2,385 million forward. Merchant sales were USD 12,249 million spot, USD 9,154 million forward and USD 4,947 million cancellation of forwards; inter‑bank sales were USD 23,591 million spot, USD 41,929 million swap and USD 3,500 million forward.
On 28‑08‑2026 merchant purchases fell to USD 5,387 million spot, USD 2,816 million forward and USD 2,313 million cancellation of forwards; inter‑bank purchases were USD 17,506 million spot, USD 31,342 million swap and USD 1,865 million forward. Merchant sales were USD 5,665 million spot, USD 3,656 million forward and USD 1,890 million cancellation of forwards; inter‑bank sales were USD 16,282 million spot, USD 37,151 million swap and USD 1,709 million forward.
