Policy Rates and Liquidity

The Reserve Bank of India, in consultation with the Government of India, has announced the schedule for Treasury Bill auctions for the October‑December 2026 quarter. Weekly auctions are set on the dates listed, with issue dates the following day. Each auction will offer ₹8,000 crore of 91‑day bills, ₹8,000 crore of 182‑day bills and ₹7,000 crore of 364‑day bills.

Capital Markets and Flows

Across the quarter, the cumulative offering amounts to ₹1,04,000 crore for 91‑day bills, ₹1,04,000 crore for 182‑day bills and ₹91,000 crore for 364‑day bills, bringing the total Treasury Bill issuance to ₹2,99,000 crore.

Regulatory and Policy Measures

The RBI reserves the flexibility to adjust the announced amounts or auction timings in response to the Government’s financing requirements, evolving market conditions, intervening holidays or other relevant factors, with any changes communicated through press releases. All auctions will be conducted under the terms of General Notification No. F.No.4(2)-B(W&M)/2018 dated 26 March 2025, as amended from time to time.

The calendar provides a transparent framework for government debt issuance while retaining the ability to respond to liquidity needs and market dynamics.
