The Reserve Bank of India announced that the overnight variable rate reverse repo (VRRR) auction conducted on 20 August 2026 had a notified amount of ₹1,00,000 crore. Participants submitted offers totaling ₹1,36,732 crore, of which ₹1,00,032 crore were accepted. The auction’s cut‑off rate and weighted average rate were both 5.24 per cent. Offers received at the cut‑off rate were partially accepted at a percentage of 72.31 per cent, reflecting the extent of liquidity absorption at the prevailing policy rate.
The RBI’s operation absorbed over one lakh crore rupees at a reverse repo rate of 5.24 per cent, underscoring the central bank’s stance on liquidity management and the current level of the overnight policy rate.
