Ministry of Rural Development Notifies VB-G RAM G Grievance Redressal Rules, 2026

The Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, has formally notified the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin): VB–G RAM G – Grievance Redressal Rules, 2026, establishing a structured framework for addressing grievances related to the scheme's implementation. The rules create a multi-tier grievance redressal mechanism operated by State Governments at Gram Panchayat, Block, and District levels, with designated Grievance Redressal Officers responsible for receiving, registering, enquiring into, and disposing of grievances. The District Programme Coordinator oversees grievance redressal at the district level and ensures compliance through the designated mechanism and Digital Public Infrastructure.

Grievances can be submitted through multiple channels including in-person submission before designated officers, speed post with proof of delivery, through the designated Digital Public Infrastructure, or via telephone, helplines, or other modes decided by State Governments. Physical grievances must be entered and registered on the digital platform on the day of receipt or by the next working day. Upon registration, complainants receive an acknowledgement containing registration number, date of receipt, and designation of receiving authority, provided electronically for digital submissions and physically for physical submissions.

The rules mandate that no grievance can be refused registration based on format, language, manner of submission, or procedural deficiencies. Clear timelines require Grievance Redressal Officers to complete enquiries within seven working days from receipt date, with grievance resolution required within 15 days from receipt. Officers may call for relevant records, documents, reports, electronic data, or other information from concerned authorities and must provide complainants reasonable opportunity to be heard before disposal.

The designated Digital Public Infrastructure facilitates end-to-end tracking of grievances from registration to final disposal and enables electronic recording of enquiries, findings, and actions taken. Any grievance unresolved within the 15-day period is automatically escalated to the next higher level through the state government's mechanism, with continued electronic monitoring until resolution. The rules also provide for appeals against orders passed under this mechanism, to be filed and disposed of according to Schedule I of the VB–G RAM G Act, 2025.
