Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, conducted a student interaction at Mizoram University during his two-day visit to Mizoram. The engagement included students from Goa and Chandigarh who were visiting the Northeast under the Ministry of DoNER's Ashtalakshmi Darshan Programme, which has facilitated participation of over 590 students in the past year.

Minister Scindia emphasized the Northeast's rich cultural heritage, traditions, and development potential during the interaction. He highlighted that such exchange programmes help young people better understand the region while strengthening cultural ties, mutual understanding, and national integration. The Ashtalakshmi Darshan Programme is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of developing the eight northeastern states as the nation's Ashtalakshmi.

The initiative provides students from across India opportunities to experience the region's cultural diversity and development opportunities firsthand. Minister Scindia noted that the programme aligns with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, encouraging youth engagement, celebrating India's diversity, and strengthening the Northeast's role in the country's development journey. The interaction reaffirmed the Ministry of DoNER's commitment to fostering youth engagement, promoting cultural exchange, and strengthening people-to-people connections.
