Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia is undertaking a two-day visit to Mizoram on October 12-13, 2026, marking his second visit to the state as DoNER minister. The engagements reflect the Government of India's continued commitment to Northeast development, youth empowerment, and stakeholder engagement in the region.

On October 12, Minister Scindia will arrive in Aizawl and travel to Tuivamit where he will inaugurate projects and lay foundation stones for 10 development initiatives, alongside Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma. This event represents a significant step in strengthening development initiatives within Mizoram. Subsequently, the minister will visit Mizoram University to interact with students, including participants from MDoNER's Ashtalakshmi Darshan Program.

On October 13, Scindia will return to Mizoram University to inaugurate and deliver the keynote address at the North East Bankers' Conclave 3.0. The conclave aims to position the banking sector as a key partner in advancing financial inclusion, improving credit access, and supporting economic growth across the Northeastern region. The visit underscores the government's focus on comprehensive development through infrastructure projects, youth engagement, and financial sector collaboration in Northeast India.
