The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, in collaboration with the Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC), is implementing the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs (SEED) to promote education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and livelihood generation among Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic communities. During the 2025-26 period, the scheme covered more than 1.10 lakh beneficiaries across different components including education, livelihood and healthcare initiatives, with financial assistance amounting to Rs. 53.06 crores released for implementation.
Secretary of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Sudhansh Pant, stated that the scheme is making a meaningful contribution towards enhancing access to education, supporting entrepreneurship and encouraging sustainable livelihood opportunities across the country. He emphasized that through its various components, SEED is helping beneficiaries pursue their aspirations and participate in India's growth journey, contributing to inclusive growth and socio-economic development. The impact of the scheme is reflected in numerous success stories emerging from different parts of the country, demonstrating the ministry's commitment to promoting education, entrepreneurship, healthcare and livelihood generation among these communities.
