The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, in collaboration with the Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC), implemented the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs (SEED) during the 2025-26 period. The scheme achieved significant coverage with over 1.10 lakh beneficiaries from Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic communities across different components focusing on education, livelihood, and healthcare initiatives. Financial assistance totaling Rs.53.06 crores was released for implementation of these empowerment programs.
Secretary of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Sudhansh Pant, emphasized that the SEED scheme is making meaningful contributions by enhancing access to education, supporting entrepreneurship, and encouraging sustainable livelihood opportunities nationwide. The scheme helps beneficiaries pursue their aspirations and participate in India's growth journey through various components that expand enterprises, enhance household incomes, support educational achievement, and enable professional careers.
The success stories emerging from different parts of the country reflect the Ministry's commitment to promoting education, entrepreneurship, healthcare, and livelihood generation among these marginalized communities. The scheme represents a government initiative for inclusive growth and socio-economic development, helping individuals and families create new milestones while contributing to India's overall development progress.
