The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, in collaboration with the Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC), has implemented the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs (SEED) to promote education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and livelihood generation among Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic communities.
During the 2025-26 period, the scheme achieved significant coverage with more than 1.10 lakh beneficiaries receiving support across various components including education, livelihood, and healthcare initiatives. The Ministry released financial assistance amounting to Rs. 53.06 crores for the implementation of these programs.
Secretary of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Sudhansh Pant, emphasized that the scheme is making meaningful contributions by enhancing access to education, supporting entrepreneurship, and encouraging sustainable livelihood opportunities across the country. He noted that SEED is helping beneficiaries pursue their aspirations and participate in India's growth journey, with success stories emerging from different parts of the country reflecting the scheme's impact on expanding enterprises, enhancing household incomes, supporting educational achievement, and fostering professional careers.
The scheme represents the Ministry's commitment to promoting education, entrepreneurship, healthcare, and livelihood generation among marginalized communities, contributing to inclusive growth and socio-economic development nationwide.
