The Ministry of Women and Child Development provided an update on the centrally sponsored Shakti Sadan Scheme, a relief and rehabilitation program for women in distress.
The scheme, which merges the earlier Swadhar Greh and Ujjawala initiatives, is operational with 419 shelters and has rehabilitated 19,960 women in the first three quarters of FY 2025-26.
The Ministry monitors the scheme through a dedicated dashboard, physical and virtual meetings, and field visits to ensure effective implementation.
